About the Co-Hosts:

Dr. Heidi Lescanec, ND
Heidi Is a licensed naturopathic doctor, practicing for over 20 years. She has been fascinated by the menopause transition since she was in her twenties in medical school in Portland. With her background in cultural anthropology she enjoys looking under the hood of why we see things the way we do and how our cultural beliefs and practices impact our ability to thrive. She has been in healthy cooking field for over 30 years, having worked as a chef in backcountry lodges and retreat centers around the world. She was a health writer and recipe creator for Ecoparent Magazine for 10 years. They featured her favourite recipes in their Anniversary Issue.

Stephanie Hale
With 4 sisters and dozens of female cousins and plenty of older friends, you’d think Stephanie would have been prepared for perimenopause. Wrong! So she’s been asking the women around her the same question over and over again, “How’s perimenopause going for you?” These conversations have not only helped her to find her own inspiration as she manages through perimenopause but also has led her to co-hosting this conversation with Heidi. As a marketer, content designer, podcaster, and leadership development coach, Stephanie has been helping individuals and organizations create change through meaningful gatherings and conversations for nearly 20 years.

What is it:
The Pink Zones Podcast Club is a community of women who are podcast enthusiasts coming together for meaningful discussions centred around specific themes that relate to fostering more Pink Zones, the places and conditions that support women thriving in midlife and beyond.
Each month, we dive into a theme explored in 2 different hand-picked podcast episodes.
It’s just like a book club, but for podcasts: members listen to the selected episodes at their own pace and then gather on a video call to discuss.
FAQ:
What is the perspective:
- The opposite of anti-aging- it is pro-aging and pro-thriving.
- The intention is to redefine what growing older as a woman is all about.
- Not so much what does it look like, but what does it feel like?
Growing and learning from sharing the knowledge, insight and wisdom we gather not just from the luminary or thought-leader featured in the podcast episode but from the each other (the collective).
Who it is for:
- Women who want to be healthier and happier in midlife and beyond.
- Those who want more than the current narrative about banning belly fat, and reversing the signs of aging on the outside.
- Those who wish to learn and grow.
What you will get:
- Curated list of 2 podcast episodes to listen to ahead of the meeting.
- Community. I hope this can be an antidote to the model of self-sufficiency that leads to feeling alone and at times “broken” in a fix-yourself culture. This is a group of like-minded women who are at various stages of the midlife journey. This is an opportunity to benefit from the collective and participate in whatever form you feel comfortable.
- An opportunity to share insights about what we are learning lately, or have already gathered along the way, or questions and challenges that we are encountering.
- At least 1 take-away from each episode (with a hand-selected luminary or thought-leader) that we can incorporate in our lives moving forward (a strategy, habit, perspective, aha mindset, or practice).
What you will give:
- Your valuable presence- these will not be recorded. The aim is to build and nourish community and have a safe container where this will not be shared outside of the group / or experience we create.
- As above – you will contribute what you feel comfortable sharing: any wisdom, insights, challenges, questions, reflections that we can all learn and grow from.
